The PAN Foundation and the Amyloidosis Foundation join forces to support people living with amyloidosis
Washington, D.C., July 10, 2020—The PAN Foundation and the Amyloidosis Foundation today announced they are launching a new partnership to offer a broad range of support for people living with amyloidosis.
Working together, the PAN Foundation and the Amyloidosis Foundation will ensure people living with amyloidosis have access to both financial and patient support services, providing them the comprehensive resources needed to best manage their condition.
“Amyloidosis is a rare and complicated condition that often requires extensive and ongoing treatment,” said PAN President and CEO Dan Klein. “Our alliance with the Amyloidosis Foundation will offer individuals with amyloidosis the wraparound support services they need to feel encouraged and empowered as they brave their course of treatment.”
According to the Amyloidosis Foundation, amyloidosis affects less than 200,000 people in the U.S. However, many experts suspect that amyloidosis is underdiagnosed.
“For people living with amyloidosis, treatment can’t wait. Early diagnosis and treatment initiation are key to managing their condition and extending their lifespan,” said Amyloidosis Foundation President Mary O’Donnell. “Our goal in partnering with the PAN Foundation is to alleviate the financial burden of treatment costs so people living with amyloidosis can have uninterrupted access to vital medications and stay hopeful on their care journey.”
Patients who qualify for the PAN Foundation’s Amyloidosis Assistance Program are eligible to receive $7,800 per year in financial assistance.
