John’s journey to recovery

John smiling outside

“I had been retired for four years and had been camping in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. In 2015, I developed a cough and shortness of breath. Tests revealed that I had large b-cell lymphoma behind my lungs. Understandably, I was devastated. Since I only had Medicare insurance, I braced myself for a reality check on the cost of drugs. Instead, I was introduced to the Patient Access Network Foundation. At first, I thought I misunderstood what the billing representative told me. Then I gradually realized that PAN would cover the co-pays for the most expensive drugs, and that I would owe an amount I could afford. I felt a weight being lifted, and I left that day filled with deep gratitude and renewed hope. Today, CT scans show no presence of cancer. I am forever grateful for such generous support in my time of need.” —John
